The BATS organising committee should now know which groups would like to be considered for FEATS 2012 (Antwerp, 25-28 May 2012).
The FEATS steering committee meets at the end of October to look at the responses in the context of the revolving list system, which is intended to ensure a fair rotation of the groups that want to compete. This year the lists are to be reviewed for the first time since 2005, a revision made necessary by the addition of new groups, and the fact that some groups have become more active whilst others have declined or even ceased to perform altogether.
The groups that make the “Top 12” (in order of the selection rota, not merit!) will be told formally during November that they have made the selection. They must then pay the entry fee and performance bond, which may be forfeited if they fail to meet their commitments.
